Distraction is often used by unauthorized individuals. This can come in many forms to foil detection.
I’m not convinced that this business owner actually intended to lay out their primary communication (which their security video surveillance, intrusion alarm system ran through) up on a silver platter for all those to view and especially those unauthorized to figure out what’s what.
Having this prominently displayed at your business is not a form of countermeasure.
Work with your suppliers, ask the right questions and make informed requests. Control your countermeasures and mitigate losses.
