It becomes very discouraging when I witness business, people, don’t get me wrong…I mean good businesses, good people, community minded, corporately responsible, want to do the right thing, want to protect their investment.
Then this happens…
Now what you do see, is the snow building up on the back of the camera. What you don’t see is that the camera is currently surveying a snow bank and that the housing is filling up with water, because the snow accumulating on the end of it is melting because of the housings heater unit.
So where did we go wrong? We saw the value in having a professionally installed security surveillance system. We saw the value in placing signs on our building letting everyone know we’ve done this. We saw the value in spending hard-earned money on that very same system.
So where’s the disconnect? Have we lost faith in the system we purchased? Have our values changed? Do we have an absent security service provider? (Quick fix, find a different one, but be sure to do your homework on them)
Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate some of these answers. Maybe the system doesn’t serve the purpose it was originally intended. That’s okay, your needs and requirements can change. But the message you’re currently sending with an image like this, states that you’re willing to spend the money to not use whatever it is. Not the best message going forward.
Remember it’s not only the bad element that’s going to see this, it’s your employees, friends and your clients.
