In my every day travels I look for security ingenuity and lack of judgement.
I think I found some today. In the examples I will share below I’m still pondering what “we’re” trying to protect and who “we’re” trying to protect and what with all that in mind what we’re trying to protect “them” from.
So here is a closed property, nobody around, gate closed but for your convenience a pad lock has been left with the key so you can lock up when you’ re done.
Most common installation mistakes I find involve fencing and the use of strands of barbed wire. The concept is to prevent or at the minimum delay entry not exit.
And sometimes perception is reality…your gate may not actually secure, your camera may not actually have power, but sometime Security Theatre is where it’s at.
Timely maintenance, proper installation and a sincere effort towards your security program, risk management and analysis can most certainly save you in the long run.
